What skills and experience we're looking for

Following retirement and promotion of staff, we are delighted to be able to offer two full-time teaching posts at our popular village school. The posts are initially in Key Stage Two, but there is scope for development in the future. One post is permanent, and the other initially to cover a maternity leave for a year and they are both offered on scale M1 to M6.

The closing date for applications is 9.00am on Friday 26th April with interviews scheduled for Tuesday 30th April. A pdf application form is on the website, and a Word version is available from the school office.

What the school offers its staff

DrSouth’s is a four-class village school, located at the heart of the community. There are excellent links with parents and the wider community, and, thanks to local support, other primary schools can only dream of the facilities we have.

As well as the purpose-built Lin Cooper Practical Skills Building, where there are dedicated cookery lessons each day and a designated art area, we have access to The Jacobs’ Field for Forest School and outdoor learning for all children. We also have a thriving orchestra, and enjoy success in local sporting events. We would particularly welcome teachers with a passion for art and music.

Islip is easy to get to from the A34, the M40 and from Oxford itself. We have strong links with the local church and we are proud to have been serving the Islip community for over 300 years. Come and meet us and find out how you can be part of our onward journey! We would be very happy to show you round our lovely school, so do get in touch.

Commitment to safeguarding

ODST is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post involves the type of work with children and young people that requires applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All applicants are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed.
