This is an exciting time for Science at Turner Schools as September 2023 sees the opening of our Trust-wide sixth form offering a wide range of level 3 STEM qualifications. As a result, we are looking to recruit an exceptionalKS5 Lead for Sciencefor September 2023. This new role will support the growth of the Science Departments at both Folkestone Academy & Turner Free School.

Working with the Trust leaders and middle leaders in both schools, the KS5 Lead for Science will play a key role in supporting teaching & learning within Science, as well ensuring excellent outcomes for KS5 students. As such, we particularly welcome applications from candidates with a record of improving outcomes for pupils in Science, especially disadvantaged pupils.

Following recent Ofsted inspections in both schools, Ofsted commented that at Folkestone Academy: “Teachers use their strong subject knowledge to make learning interesting and engaging. They are extremely positive about the high-quality training provided by leaders and the trust.”
