What skills and experience we're looking for

The successful candidate will work with and supervise Early Years/KS1 children with additional needs under the direction of teaching and/or senior staff, inclusive of physical and general care and basic classroom management techniques and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

Lunch time supervision will also be included in this role.

We are seeking to appoint teaching assistants who

  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils with additional needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of Pupil Profiles / Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs

  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs

  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils

  • Encourage interaction with others and engage in activities led by the teacher

  • Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence

  • Support small group interventions and activities
