What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a skilled, compassionate and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEND). This is a rewarding opportunity to help pupils access learning, build confidence and develop positive relationships within a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
The successful candidate will:
- Support children to develop positive social interactions, build self-esteem and improve their emotional wellbeing.
- Have experience of working with children who have social, emotional and/or communication needs.
- Demonstrate a calm, consistent and nurturing approach, with effective behaviour management skills.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher, Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and external professionals to deliver tailored support programmes.
- Be resilient, reflective and committed to meeting the individual needs of each child.
- Be passionate about promoting inclusion and enabling all children to achieve their full potential.
The following is desirable, but not essential:
- Experience of supporting a child with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD).
- Knowledge and/or experience of trauma-informed approaches and strategies.
