L4 Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor job summary

Kings Meadow School is currently looking to recruit a Level 4 Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor to join our friendly and successful SEMH School. We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and resilient individual who will provide strong support and assistance to staff and students across the school.

The post holder will be an individual who is passionate about working with students with special educational needs, ideally including those with social, emotional and mental health needs. Your core role will be to provide PPA cover for teachers and to cover when a colleague is absent. Additionally, you will prepare and deliver work programmes to groups or individual pupils; assist with classroom activity; promote development and learning (physical, emotional, educational) both in and outside the classroom. The post will also include other supervisory duties and administrative tasks.

You will be extremely organised, focussed and have a calm and friendly approach. You will have great patience and empathy along with excellent interpersonal skills, as this role involves dealing with students, staff and colleagues throughout the school. You will enjoy working with young people and have experience of working with them. You can work independently but be able to judge when to ask for help and support.

The position could be seen as an ideal transition to a career in teaching or similar and offers the opportunity to develop skills within a supportive education setting.

The successful candidate should be computer literate and have worked with MS Word, Outlook and Excel. English and Maths GCSE grade A-C or grade 4 or above are essential together with previous experience of having worked with students with special educational needs.

If you feel you are a suitable candidate, please contact school to obtain an application pack. Alternatively download the pack from the school website. Please note CVs will not be accepted in lieu of an application form.

Closing date for applications: 9am on Tuesday 5 October 2021. Interviews will take place in the week commencing 11 October 2021.
