Lead Early Years Practitioner job summary
We are looking for someone with leadership skills who is ready to take on more responsibility in a Pre-School setting, working with our children aged between two and four, helping them to grow, learn and develop.
The ideal candidate needs to be caring, patient and able to use their initiative. They need to be ready to take the lead in a room or across the setting working in collaboration with and under the direction of the Pre-School Manager.
The successful candidate will hold a full and relevant Level 3 Childcare Certificate, in addition to being able to converse at ease with staff, families and professionals in accurate spoken English. Candidates should also have good written and IT skills and a good knowledge of child development and the EYFS.
The successful candidate would be key person to approximately 12 children and be involved in the day to day care and learning of the children. They would be responsible for the developing the weekly planning, preparing & organising activities based on the Pre-School curriculum. They will work with the Manager to devise and implement rotas and timetables and will be expected to work collaboratively and supportively with other EYFS practitioners to deliver the curriculum both in directed activities and free-flow activities inside and outside.
The post is Monday to Friday, term time only 33 hours per week, 8.30 am - 3.30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. 8.00 am- 3.30 pm on Wednesdays
This post could be extended in the future to include breakfast and after school club. This may operate on a rota basis and the pay and times of work adjusted accordingly.
