We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced SEMH Worker and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead with a passion for supporting children's social, emotional, and mental health. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to our incredible schools.
Harlington and Sundon Lower Schools are committed to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for all our pupils. We pride ourselves on our values-based education and a close-knit team that fosters a warm, positive, and caring ethos.
Our children are looking for a kind, caring, and supportive individual who will inspire their well-being and development, and support them pastorally.
As the SEMH Worker and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will provide dedicated support to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behaviour. You will predominantly be based at Harlington Lower School, but the role may involve work across both Harlington Lower School and Sundon Lower School. You will support children with identified SEMH needs and those with undiagnosed SEMH and behaviour needs, both within the classroom setting and through leading small group activities. This role also involves supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead with responsibility for safeguarding across the schools, and deputising for the DSL when necessary. As part of the safeguarding team, you will monitor incidents of behaviour and safeguarding on CPOMS, actioning behaviour incidents and supporting staff with next steps. The successful applicant will have experience of working with children in an educational environment and excellent knowledge of safeguarding procedures. You will be able to effectively liaise with parents/carers and external agencies. We are looking for someone who can take responsibility and work with autonomy within set boundaries, as well as work well as part of a team.
We can offer a highly supportive environment, a truly friendly staff team, and excellent opportunities for professional development, including DDSL training.
Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged. Please contact us at office@harlington.co.uk to arrange a visit and experience our wonderful schools in action.
