What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for Lead Examination Invigilators to join our invigilation team, supervising pupils taking both mock and GCSE exams. This would be working on an ad-hoc basis, predominantly October, November, February, May, June and August.
The Lead Invigilator must ensure that mock and GCSE examinations are conducted calmly and efficiently in accordance with JCQ regulations and school procedures. The role will involve working closely with the Exams Officer as well as supervising and supporting other invigilators.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Lead and co-ordinate the invigilation team during examination sessions and support them to ensure exams are consistent and professional
- Prepare and set up examination rooms in accordance with JCQ and school requirements
- Check examination papers, answer booklets and other materials, ensuring pupils receive the correct items
- Ensure all examination procedures and regulations are followed throughout each exam and examination security and confidentiality maintained at all times
- Provide clear instructions to candidates and maintain a calm and orderly examination environment
- Monitor candidates throughout the exams and respond appropriately to any issues or incidents
- Record and report any irregularities or concerns to the Exams Officer
- Undertake invigilation, scribe and/or reader duties where required
- Be available for a few days in August to support Exams Officer with post exam result administration
