Thank you for your interest in applying to be an IT Technician at William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS). This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to provide vital back-office support to staff and students to enable students to receive the very best educational experience and outcomes.

Reporting to the IT Service Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the main delivery of the IT service to WHGS, but also 10 other academies within the shared service when required.

Working as part of an ICT delivery service team, you will provide IT support and contribute to the effective operation, maintenance and repair of all computers and computer-related resources throughout the academies.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a busy IT support role, be self-motivated and keen to learn new systems and technology. They will also be able to use their initiative to manage their own workload.

The ability to provide first line technical support is essential, responding to users’ helpdesk requests in a timely and effective manner to minimise any disruption to teaching, learning or administration at WHGS.

This post may involve both evening and very occasional weekend work and the post holder will need to demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work unsocial hours.

William Hulme’s Grammar School is the second most over-subscribed school in Manchester and one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country. WHGS is an all-through (3-18) Academy of over 1450 pupils with a wide range of abilities, ethnicities and backgrounds.
