Lead Midday Supervisor job summary

Bedgrove Infant School is seeking a dedicated and organised Lead Midday Supervisor to join our vibrant primary school team. This is a key role in ensuring our pupils have a happy, safe, and calm lunchtime experience.

Working under the direction of the School Business Manager, you will lead and support our team of Midday Supervisors, oversee smooth lunchtime routines, and ensure children’s dietary and allergy needs are safely managed. You’ll be someone who is confident, caring, and attentive, with the ability to work as part of a team and take the lead when needed

Hours of Work: 8:00am – 2:00pm Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Location: Bedgrove Infant Primary School, Ingram Avenue, Aylesbury, HP21 9DJ
Salary Grade: Bucks Pay Range 1 Pt 7 – 10 depending on experience (Hourly rate £12.56 - £12.93)


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading and coordinating the Midday Supervisor team to ensure effective lunchtime supervision
  • Ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and good behaviour of pupils during lunch
  • Monitoring and managing allergies and dietary needs, including liaising with parents and kitchen staff
  • Ensuring correct meals are served and allergy alert systems (e.g. wrist bands and lanyards) are in place and followed
  • Supporting children with healthy eating and lunchtime routines
  • Assisting with basic food prep and dining area set-up when required
  • Maintaining a clean, safe dining environment


We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children, ideally in a school or childcare setting
  • Can lead and direct a team calmly and efficiently
  • Is confident in managing allergies and working with dietary needs
  • Has strong communication and organisational skills
  • Understands the importance of safeguarding, health & safety, and confidentiality
  • Is approachable, patient, and passionate about supporting children
