What skills and experience we're looking for
Full time – 1.0 FTE – Permanent – Start date: April 2025
As the Lead Practitioner, you will work closely with the leadership team, line managers, and HR colleagues to shape and deliver tailored coaching and mentoring programs.
These programs will be customized to meet individual needs, aligning with course requirements where applicable. Your role will involve supporting staff to become reflective and impactful practitioners while helping them achieve qualifications that foster career progression.
This position includes two days (0.4 FTE) of directed teaching time per week, which may involve class-based responsibilities or specialist teaching, to be determined in consultation with the Headteacher.
We are seeking an inspirational teacher with a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives. You will demonstrate the ability to cultivate and sustain a culture that prioritizes staff well-being and professional development, always keeping the needs of our pupils at the forefront.

The Avenue School based in Tilehurst in Reading supports over 250 pupils aged 3-19 with severe or profound learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and autism.
