MPR / UPR & TLR 2b (£4,657 pa)

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and outstanding Lead Practitioner who has the drive, vision, strategic leadership skills and qualities, to continue to raise further the levels of students’ achievement and progress in a very successful and enthusiastic Science department.

Hounsdown is an 11-16 Science College which converted to an Academy in August 2011. We are a popular, over-subscribed, Outstanding (Ofsted 2017), Hampshire school and a strategic partner for the ETC Teaching School Alliance. Essential educational requirements

Degree or equivalent academic qualification in Science

Essential qualifications

Qualified Teacher Status

Essential skills and experience

Subject knowledge including assessment

3 years experience of teaching Science in a English Secondary School

Experience of both KS3 and KS4 Science Literature and Language

Teaching ability – successful teaching or teaching practice at secondary level, with a commitment to high quality teaching and willingness to share good practice

Proven experience of impact in the classroom

Evidence of appropriate professional development
