What skills and experience we're looking for
As Lead Practitioner for Leading Support Staff Development, you will:
- Support and enhance the quality of teaching delivered by support staff during PPA and cover periods across the school.
- Work closely with senior leaders and subject leads to model outstanding teaching, deliver bespoke coaching, and lead impactful CPD.
- Provide hands-on classroom support through team teaching and direct intervention.
- Use data, observations, and learning walks to identify professional development needs and measure the impact of initiatives.
- Lead a team dedicated to professional growth and contribute meaningfully to appraisal processes. Plan strategically in partnership with the deputy head team, driving improvement aligned with our School Improvement Plan and Ofsted self-assessment.
- Promote an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity and fosters positive relationships with parents and carers.
- This role offers you the chance to influence teaching quality at every level, supporting colleagues to unlock their full potential and, ultimately, improving outcomes for all pupils.
You are a highly motivated and reflective educator who:
- Holds qualified teacher status with a strong track record of excellent classroom practice.
- Is passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing others, with experience leading CPD and supporting staff.
- Possesses deep knowledge of effective teaching strategies, including differentiation and inclusion.
- Understands instructional coaching models like WalkThrus and uses data insightfully to drive improvement.
- Communicates clearly and confidently, inspiring colleagues through your professionalism and integrity.
- Is committed to fostering an equitable school environment where all pupils are encouraged to excel.
- Thrives in a collaborative setting and embraces ongoing professional growth.
