What skills and experience we're looking for

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to improve student outcomes and engagement by ensuring the quality of teaching and learning is of a strong standard in the Mathematics Department. Mayflower High School is an inclusive secondary school with a very successful Sixth Form centre on site. We are dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes and opportunities for all of our students.

The successful candidate should have:

  • The ability to inspire and enthuse students
  • High expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
  • The ability to take the lead role in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practises that lead to school improvement
  • The ability to lead structured monitoring and evaluation of all aspects of teaching and learning through lesson observations, feedback to teaching staff and work sampling.
  • Accredited Lead Practitioner status or the desire to work towards Accredited Lead Practitioner status
