What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an exceptional and ambitious teacher to lead A Level Psychology within our thriving and rapidly growing sixth form, HAWI6. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and knowledgeable educator to play a key role in shaping and delivering a high-quality post-16 experience, inspiring students to achieve outstanding outcomes and progress to ambitious destinations.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner with a strong subject knowledge in Psychology and a clear commitment to academic excellence. They will have the ability to design and deliver an engaging and rigorous curriculum, foster intellectual curiosity, and support students in developing as independent, resilient learners. As Lead Teacher, they will take responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning in Psychology, working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistently high standards and strong student outcomes.
Our sixth form is at an exciting stage of development. Now in the ninth year of our journey as a school, we celebrated our first A Level results last year with exceptional success. Our students secured progression to leading universities including Cambridge, Durham and Exeter, alongside other Russell Group institutions and prestigious art colleges. For many, they are the first in their families to access higher education, making these achievements particularly meaningful.
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A good honours degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
- Evidence of continued professional development
- Successful experience teaching Psychology at Key Stage 5 (A Level)
- Proven track record of securing strong student outcomes at A Level
- Experience of planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Experience of assessing, tracking and using data to improve student progress

As Lead Teacher of A Level Psychology, you will provide strategic leadership for the subject, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes. You will be responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of schemes of work, raising attainment, and ensuring outstanding delivery of A Level Psychology.
You will deliver an engaging, broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum while monitoring and supporting the progress and development of all students. You will play a key role in driving academic standards and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

We are an ‘Outstanding' (Ofsted 2023) secondary academy, established in 2018 to provide an excellent education for children in Wimbledon. With our new Sixth Form opening this year, we will soon have a full cohort of students aged 11-18.
Two years after opening, we moved into our brand-new building which is modern, bright and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in every area of the curriculum. We are oversubscribed and fortunate to have an amazing level of support from the community with waiting lists for entry into every year group of our academy.
