About the Role
Beamont Collegiate Academy is seeking an ambitious, innovative, and highly motivated Leader of Business to join our forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding classroom practitioner with the passion and vision to lead and develop the Business department, inspiring students to achieve excellent outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping curriculum provision, raising standards, and promoting a culture of aspiration, engagement, and achievement for all learners. You will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, excellent leadership potential, and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic direction of the Business department to secure outstanding teaching, a well-sequenced curriculum, and excellent student outcomes.
- Develop and review the curriculum to ensure consistency, rigour, and inclusivity, enabling all students to achieve at the highest level.
- Organise assessments, analyse results, and monitor key groups of learners to inform interventions.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance staff expertise in Business education.
- Teach and model the delivery of rigorous and engaging lessons that inspire and improve pupil attainment.
- Promote a wide range of careers-focused Business opportunities and ensure they are integrated into the academy’s careers strategy.
- Manage resources effectively to support the achievement of departmental and academy goals.
- Foster a culture of high expectations, professional collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- A good degree from a recognised university and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching GCSE Business and working as part of a curriculum team to design and develop resources.
- Proven ability to develop schemes of work, assessments, and teaching strategies that drive student success.
- Strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for inspiring students and colleagues.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
