What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Design Technology / Hospitality and Catering to join Durham Academy from September 2024. We wish to appoint a committed and highly effective teacher to teach across our key stages. You should be educated to degree level and hold qualified teacher status (QTS) as well as having experience of teaching to KS3 and KS4.
The successful applicant is expected to facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential as well as contribute to raising standards of student attainment. You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning and personalisation strategies and be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of monitoring and evaluating whilst improving the standard of achievement for all students.
You will be confident in your abilities to effectively teach Food and Product Design across Key Stages 3 & 4. You will be adept in creating a supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for all students.
