Leader of Inclusive Curriculums job summary

We seek to appoint a committed and dynamic Leader of Inclusive Curriculums to join our SEN Team. This is a new role with responsibility for the day to day management of the school’s Achievement Centre. The school’s Achievement Centre provision incorporates two nurture bases, a sensory room, bespoke zones of regulation and acts as an area of behavioural and emotional support for cohorts of pupils across all year groups at any one time.

Our teaching and support staff work hard and enthusiastically as one team with the belief that every student can succeed and transform their life chances, achieving more than they dreamt possible. You will be able to enthuse and motivate our students with your passion for learning, your presence and personality.

The Leader of Inclusive Curriculum will be experienced in dealing with challenging behaviours, pupils with SEND and those at risk of suspension or permanent exclusion. They will ensure that pupils who are accessing the Achievement Centre are supported with both their behavioural and emotional needs and be responsible for monitoring the work and interventions which are delivered to pupils. The Leader of Inclusive Curriculums would timetable all interventions and be responsible for Quality Assurance. They would be the main point of contact for all external providers i.e. Art Therapist, Educational Psychologist, and any external agencies supporting inclusion.

The successful candidate will be required to provide academic, emotional and social support to young people to help them overcome barriers to learning, ensuring that individual pupils engage more effectively in learning and participating in the life of the school. Candidates will have the ability to identify specific barriers and implement a range of strategies to support both basic skills and access to the curriculum.
