What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking a highly organised and forward-thinking Learning and Development Manager to lead the coordination of professional development across Avanti Schools Trust.
This role sits at the heart of our Education team, ensuring that CPD is not only well-planned and compliant, but also ambitious and aligned to our long-term vision. You will manage the Trust-wide CPD calendar, oversee training systems and budgets, and commission high-quality development opportunities for staff at every level.
Working with senior stakeholders, you will bring structure, clarity, and consistency to a complex and evolving landscape.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on turning strategy into seamless delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Multi Academy Trust with schools based in London, the midlands and the South West of England. All Avanti schools provide pupils with an outstanding education rooted in the inclusive and distinctive Avanti Schools ethos of educational excellence, character development, and spiritual insight.
What will you do?
- Lead the strategic planning and coordination of a Trust-wide CPD programme, ensuring all professional development is coherent, well-structured, and aligned to the Avanti Way.
- Oversee the full CPD lifecycle, including calendar management, budget tracking, event delivery, and stakeholder coordination across Education, HR, IT, and Operations.
- Drive the implementation of the Soul of Education framework into a multi-year professional development offer, commissioning facilitators and shaping high-quality Spiritual Insight CPD.
- Ensure full compliance with all mandatory training requirements across the Trust, managing systems, reporting, and audit processes to meet statutory and organisational standards.
- Manage leadership development, induction, coaching, and apprenticeship programmes, while overseeing training platforms, supplier relationships, and data to ensure impact and value for money.
What are we looking for?
- Strong project and event management skills with excellent attention to detail, operating confidently across administrative and strategic tasks
- Genuine alignment with the values and ethos of Avanti Schools Trust
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or managing L&D or CPD programmes in a complex, multi-site organisation
- Experience sourcing, commissioning, and managing external facilitators, trainers, and coaches
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students

Avanti Schools support each person’s life journey along three parallel paths: Educational excellence; Character formation; and Spiritual insight.
Avanti’s unique ethos places a key emphasis on each individual’s wellbeing and good mental health. Children with higher levels of emotional, behavioural, social, and school wellbeing, on average, have higher levels of academic achievement and are more engaged in the school community. All our schools share a dedicated approach to wellbeing, from providing yoga and mindfulness sessions, sports and exercise, charity work, and working with parents and carers as co-educators.
