Learning Coach SEND Support 2 days per week job summary

Waterfield Primary School, part of The Collegiate Trust, is looking for a Learning Coach SEND Support to help children with SEND and additional needs feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

In this term-time-only role (13 hours per week, 8:30am to 3:30pm on Thursdays and Fridays only), you’ll work closely with the KS1 team, the SEND team and outside agencies. Day to day, that means delivering small-group teaching, scaffolding and adapting tasks for individual pupils, supporting wellbeing, behaviour and personal care needs, working with families and carers, and helping supervise lunch and break times.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with young children and/or those with additional needs. This experience may have been gained through paid employment, volunteering, community work or other relevant settings. You will need a good understanding of how children learn, GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, and a patient, calm and flexible approach. Strong teamwork and a commitment to supporting every child to succeed are essential. A Level 3 childcare qualification is desirable.

Whilst previous SEND experience would be an advantage, we are keen to hear from enthusiastic applicants who have the right values, attitude and willingness to learn. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to the successful candidate.

If you would like further information, please see the applicant information pack attached.
