What skills and experience we're looking for

  • This is an important leadership post within the school’s leadership team as the successful candidate will embrace the Harrogate High School pledge and take responsibility as Learning Director of Mathematics to oversee high quality teaching and learning of the Maths Department.
  • As the Learning Director of Maths, you will be supported by a stable team of subject specialists consisting of four colleagues, including a second in department, that share a vision of excellent teaching and learning founded on collaborative planning, assessment, and instruction, and who help each other to continually improve practice. We have an open-door culture and reflective ethos where we use lesson study to learn from each other.
  • You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning and personalisation strategies and be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of monitoring and evaluating whilst improving the standard of achievement for all students.
