What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you passionate about removing barriers to learning and ensuring every student achieves their full potential? Dyke House Academy, part of the Northern Education Trust, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Manager to join our Deep Support team.

In this role, you will play a pivotal part in monitoring academic progress and behaviour across a designated year group. By leveraging data, strategic intervention, and close collaboration with parents and external agencies, you will help create an environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Targeted Academic & Behavioural Support: Utilise MIS tracking data to identify barriers to learning, intervene with internal truancy or lesson tardiness, and deliver targeted interventions for coursework and academic progress.
  • Safeguarding & Multi-Agency Working: Record safeguarding incidents, write comprehensive student reports, and represent the academy at safeguarding Case Conferences, Children in Need, and Team Around the Child meetings.
  • Parental & Community Engagement: Act as the primary link between parents/carers and the academy on non-departmental issues. Lead meetings on-site or at home addresses, carry out attendance checks, and undertake truancy sweeps when necessary.
  • Student Well-being & Support Plans: Complete Pastoral Support Plans (PSPs) and Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs). Support SLT at readmission meetings and attend formal Attendance Panels.
  • Enrichment & Academy Life: Support out-of-academy activities, including organising Year 11 Prom, residential trips, open/parents' evenings, and student fundraising initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, families, and multi-agency partners.
  • Ability to analyse data and use MIS software to track attendance, behaviour, and attainment.
  • High level of organisation and administrative capability, including writing multi-agency reports and completing event risk assessments.
  • Unwavering commitment to child safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection (GDPR).
  • Flexibility to undertake occasional local travel and support out-of-academy activities.
