Learning Mentor Grade 4 £19,698 - £23,080 FTE (Actual £17,017 - £19,939) 37 hours per week, Term Time Only plus 1 Week. Finham Park 2 is an exciting new co-educational academy in Coventry that opened in September 2015. Already a popular choice with local parents, we have a full cohort of Years 7 to 11 students. Our students are smart, thoughtful, inquisitive, well-behaved and polite; on entry they are significantly above the national average for attainment in English and Mathematics. The school was set up by leaders from the ‘Outstanding’ (2015) Finham Park School and is proud to be part of and supported by the Finham Park Multi Academy Trust. The Governors are seeking to appoint a professional and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to provide a complementary service to that provided by teachers and pastoral staff in order to address the needs of pupils, who need help and support to overcome barriers to learning, both inside and outside school, to achieve their full potential. It will involve working with a range of students, but giving priority to those that experience multiple disadvantages. The role will target, help and support as part of a coordinated response by the school and other agencies to address a range of issues and bring about a positive sustainable change with individual students and the school community as a whole. The role will also have responsibility for supporting the EWO with attendance each day through monitoring & support for persistent absentees. This will include carrying out home visits if necessary, which may require driving the school minibus after training. Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is delighted to announce that we are recruiting a Headteacher for Finham Park 2 for September 2023. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to shape the immediate and long-term future for the school, supported by a close-knit community of other Headteachers and colleagues across the Trust.

Finham Park 2 School is a smaller than average 11-18 secondary school serving communities in a 1-2 mile radius around the school in Coventry. The school therefore has a comprehensive intake of pupils. Finham Park 2 was judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ in June 2018, and much progress has been made since the last inspection. The Published Admissions Number (PAN) is 120 with a temporary increase to 150 pupils in 2023 and 2024. There is real potential to grow Sixth Form provision over the next few years as part of a Trust-wide strategy. It is our belief that Finham Park 2 will become a learning community to rival the best on a national and international stage in the future. The successful candidate will lead Finham Park 2 and continue the drive to become a “World Class” school where all students have the times of their lives!
