5 Dimensions Trust is currently advertising for the following exciting permanent opportunity to start as soon as possible at Priory Rise School

Learning Mentor

Permanent

Part-Time

Salary: Grade E £27,711 - £30,060 pro rata, £20,580 - £22,324 actual

32.5 hours per week, term time (38 weeks per year)

Monday – Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm with a half hour unpaid break

Are you a caring and well-organised person with an interest in supporting pupils? Could you be a Learning Mentor at Priory Rise School?

You will mentor one or a small group of pupils who require additional support to overcome barriers to learning under the guidance of the teacher/senior staff.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with teaching staff to provide support to targeted pupils to raise achievement and attendance.
  • Providing input into the identification of needs, assessing those pupils needing extra support and the development of individual action plans for targeted pupils.
  • Assisting in maintaining contact with pupils’ families/carers to inform them of progress and issues.
  • May be required to participate in home visits to support pupils and discuss issues and progress.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold an NVQ3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Be highly organised and able to work independently and use initiative.
  • Have experience of working directly with pupils in a school setting.
  • Be able to engage with pupils and build good, effective working relationships with family and other support groups.
