Learning Recovery Coordinator job summary
Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust are seeking a dedicated Learning Recovery Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting students in our Reset Room. You will support students to regulate and return to lessons. You will also support students to ensure that they complete work so as to not get behind with their studies.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The Learning Recovery Coordinator is responsible for setting and ensuring high standards of behaviour and supporting students within the inclusion room.
Under an agreed system of supervision; to take a lead role within the school to support and manage pupils who are excluded from, or otherwise not working to, a normal timetable.
To manage, under guidance, an agreed system of supervision and to manage systems/policies/procedures for:
Reducing exclusions
Enabling learning to take place within the inclusion room
Supporting positive behaviour
Supporting re-integration into the mainstream school provision.
Core duties and purpose:
Supporting pupils’ access to learning using appropriate strategies, resources etc.
Working with other staff in planning, evaluating and adjusting learning activities as appropriate
Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses and progress against action plans through observation and planned recording
Providing objective and accurate feedback and reports as required, to other staff on pupils’ achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
Managing record keeping systems and processes
Taking a lead role in the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategies within the inclusion room
Establishing constructive relationships with parents/carers, exchanging information, facilitating their support for their child’s attendance, access and learning and supporting home to school and community links
Supporting pupils by:
Modelling our school values
Managing the supervision of pupils excluded from, or otherwise not working to, a normal timetable
Taking a lead role in managing and delivering pastoral support to pupils
Attending to pupils’ personal needs and providing advice to assist in their social, health and hygiene development
Providing feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement whilst in the Reset Room
Being aware of the development and implementation of ILPs and reasonable adjustments
Setting challenging and demanding expectations, and promoting self-esteem and independence
Ensuring the implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour/Support/Mentoring plans
Establishing productive working relationships with pupils and acting as a role model
Providing information and advice to enable pupils to make choices about their own learning/behaviour/attendance
Challenging and motivating pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem
Providing feedback to pupils in relation to progress, achievement, behaviour, attendance etc.
Using restorative practice approaches to support pupils

The successful candidate will be required to come to DMAT HQ to complete mandatory training.
Training Details:
Location: Central Head Office (Wardhayes) 8 Simmons Way, Okehampton, EX20 1PY
Purpose: To provide comprehensive training on company policies, procedures, and systems necessary for successful integration into the role.
Training Schedule: Daily sessions from 9am to 4pm, with breaks provided.
