Learning Resource Centre Manager job summary

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed LRC manager to lead the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) as a dynamic and inclusive hub of learning and literacy at John Mason School. The LRC Manager will promote a culture of reading, provide targeted reading support, run extracurricular activities and manage library services and resources in line with the school’s values: Opportunity, Determination, and Respect. Experience of or desire to work with young people is essential and knowledge of library systems is desirable.

Existing knowledge of children’s and young adults’ literature and information sources or a willingness to build your expertise in this area would be a great asset to anyone applying to this job. However, the most important criterion is a desire to inspire in young people a passion for reading using a variety of different approaches.

  • The desire to inspire young people to engage with reading and literature, whatever their background.
  • The organisational skills to manage the library collection and budget to ensure best value in purchasing and resourcing the LRC.
