Learning Resource Technician job summary

Main Purpose of the Job

To provide high-quality practical, technical, and operational support across the School, supporting the effective delivery of teaching and learning and the smooth day-to-day operations of the School.

The Learning Resource Technician will work independently, responding flexibly to identified needs across departments (e.g. Art, Movement and Performing Arts, Science), reprographics, display boards, and the safe management of equipment and resources.

Responsibilities and Duties

Curriculum and Departmental Support

Provide practical and technical support to teaching staff, particularly within Art and MPA subjects.

Prepare materials, resources, and equipment for lessons.

Maintain and safely store specialist equipment.

Manage stock levels and ordering of materials.

Provide pre/post-lesson practical support.

Reprographics and Printing

Operate central photocopying and printing equipment.

Manage staff print requests and priorities.

Order paper, toner, and consumables.

Liaise with suppliers and service engineers.

Displays and Visual Presentation

Install and maintain corridor and shared-area displays.

Mount work professionally and safely.

Maintain display boards and hardware.

Work within the School’s longer-term display approach.

Health, Safety and Safeguarding

Work in accordance with Health and Safety policies.

Carry out manual handling and work safely at height.

Comply with safeguarding and child protection requirements.
