Finham Park 2 is an exciting new co-educational academy in Coventry that opened in September 2015. Already a popular choice with local parents, we are significantly over-subscribed and have a full cohort of Year 7 to 11 students. Our students are smart, thoughtful, inquisitive, well-behaved and polite; on entry they are significantly above the national average for attainment in English and Mathematics. The school was set up by leaders from the ‘Outstanding’ (2015) Finham Park School and we moved into our newly refurbished building on Torrington Avenue in 2016. We are proud to be part of and supported by the Finham Park Multi Academy Trust.

Our vision is to provide another outstanding secondary school for parents and children in Coventry with the highest expectations. Finham Park 2 is a mainstream, non-selective, comprehensive school for students aged 11-18. The new academy is built on traditional values. Pivotal to this is a positive ethos and culture of learning and success for all students. There is particular regard to outstanding achievement for all students whatever their academic starting point and a commitment to lifelong learning for all stakeholders

The Governors are seeking to appoint a professional and enthusiastic individual who will work both independently and alongside teachers, providing valuable support for Teaching and Learning activities. They will supervise classes of students in the absence of their normal teacher. The students will be working on tasks set by the teacher. When there are no teacher absences the Cover Supervisor will provide support in lessons but will also mentor students and teach small groups having the potential to help students through some of the most difficult stages of their education and lives. They will also use specialist knowledge for planning lessons and developing support materials, and provide care and supervision to young people.

Finham Park Multi Academy Trust is delighted to announce that we are recruiting a Headteacher for Finham Park 2 for September 2023. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to shape the immediate and long-term future for the school, supported by a close-knit community of other Headteachers and colleagues across the Trust.

Finham Park 2 School is a smaller than average 11-18 secondary school serving communities in a 1-2 mile radius around the school in Coventry. The school therefore has a comprehensive intake of pupils. Finham Park 2 was judged by Ofsted as ‘Good’ in June 2018, and much progress has been made since the last inspection. The Published Admissions Number (PAN) is 120 with a temporary increase to 150 pupils in 2023 and 2024. There is real potential to grow Sixth Form provision over the next few years as part of a Trust-wide strategy. It is our belief that Finham Park 2 will become a learning community to rival the best on a national and international stage in the future. The successful candidate will lead Finham Park 2 and continue the drive to become a “World Class” school where all students have the times of their lives!
