We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Learning Support Assistant to support student transition & progress to play a key role in supporting students who join the academy throughout the academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the educational experience of young people by helping them settle quickly, overcome barriers to learning and achieve academic success. Working closely with students, families, teachers and pastoral teams, you will provide targeted support and intervention to close learning gaps, improve engagement and ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.
About You
You will be passionate about improving outcomes for young people and committed to helping every student achieve their potential, regardless of the challenges they may face. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build positive relationships quickly with students, families and colleagues.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, resilient and proactive, with the ability to identify barriers to learning and implement effective support strategies. You will be confident working with individual students and small groups, delivering targeted interventions that accelerate progress and boost confidence. An understanding of the challenges faced by students who join a school mid-year, have gaps in learning, or experience barriers such as poor attendance, SEND, SEMH or disrupted education would be advantageous.
Most importantly, you will share our commitment to inclusion, high expectations and ensuring that every student feels welcomed, supported and able to succeed from the moment they join our academy.
