Salary: Thurrock Band A Point 1-6

(£16,482.47 - £17,641.88 per annum)

8:45am – 3:15pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, Monday - Friday

30 hours per week

38 weeks of the year – term time plus inset days

An opportunity has arisen, for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our successful team supporting students in the classroom environment. Bonnygate Primary School are looking for an inspiring and enthusiastic LSA who is highly motivated, creative, fun and ideally someone who is keen to progress their career.

This position will involve:

  • Supporting pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
  • Acting as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil’s progress against lesson plans, the conduct of the lesson and keeping pupil-related records
  • Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding
  • Providing additional support to the teachers in the classrooms,
  • Establishing positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered

The successful candidate will:

  • Have excellent written skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Have the ability to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students’ welfare
  • Have GCSE or A Level Maths and English – Grade 4-9 or equivalent
