Learning Support Assistant job summary

The role

• Support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), to access learning and develop independence.
• Support students with SEND assisting with their learning, communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Provide support in the classroom, in small group interventions, and one-to-one; and as directed at break and lunchtimes
• Contribute to student reviews and record observations
• Work under the direction of the SENDCo and Specialist Teachers, and liaise proactively with teachers regarding pupil profiles and progress
• Discharge a duty of care to all students in the school

The ideal candidate

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or equivalent
• Experience working with students with a range of abilities is desirable but not essential.
