Learning Support Assistant job summary
Learning Support Assistants are required to join our SEN team to provide in-class support, small group and on occasion one-to-one learning. This is a very exciting opportunity as we are expanding and developing our SEN department to hopefully increase our provision of small group intervention. This role will offer the successful candidate opportunities to support both the staff and students while challenging barriers to learning in order to maximise the achievement of each student. Experience of working with secondary aged children would be an advantage but is not essential however the successful candidate should have a good level of education as they may be required to work with students who are taking their GCSE's. This role requires a calm and professional yet approachable manner.
This position is 37 hours per week (the working pattern for this position is 8.15 – 4.15 Monday to Thursday, 3.45 on Fridays) and Term Time Only plus INSET Days.
Oakgrove had the highest outcomes (Attainment and Progress) of all secondary schools in Milton Keynes in 2022 and 2023. The behaviour of our students has been described as exemplary. We have a history of achieving exceptional results and destinations for our students. The staff team at Oakgrove is highly dedicated and supportive and we welcome new staff who share our ethos.
The successful candidates should be willing to undertake any necessary training.
