What skills and experience we're looking for
Good Literacy skills
Good Maths skills
Competent computer skills
Evidence of having worked with children in some capacity
Experience within a school setting or similar
A passion and belief that all children can achieve
A genuine empathy with children
Hardworking and resilient
A positive, can-do attitude
Always willing to learn new things
A team player
Able to communicate effectively with children and adults
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
A knowledge of the school curriculum, especially Maths and English
Patience and the ability to work with children in a calm, consistent manner
Good organisational skills
Ability to work flexibly - one day is never the same in a school!

If so, Abbotswood Junior School is looking for Learning Support Assistants to join our large, skilled learning support team. You will work alongside teachers and will “receive regular, high quality training” and coaching.
If you are motivated, relish a challenge and enjoy working with junior school children as well as having good literacy and numeracy skills, then please apply. We have vacancies for both 1:1 and Class Learning Support Assistants.
Abbotswood is ideally situated on the edge of the beautiful New Forest and within close proximity of the bustling city of Southampton.
