TITLE: Learning Support Assistant - advanced
GRADE: Grade D, Points 8-11
HOURS/WEEKS: 35 hours per week / 39 weeks per year/Permanent
WORKING PATTERN: Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.15pm
These timings include unpaid breaks totalling one hour daily.
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Executive Principal via Vice Principal (Behaviour and Safety) via SENDCO (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator)

Chantry Academy is a thriving and ambitious, Ofsted rated good academy, is seeking to appoint a learning support assistant to join our hardworking, warm, and welcoming staff team.
We are looking for a part time-time, enthusiastic learning support assistant who has a passion for learning, will put the needs of our students first and has excellent interpersonal skills. The position involves supporting students’ learning, assisting the class teacher, and helping to make and maintain a positive, organised, and efficient environment.
At this level you will be expected to support in two or more of the following areas. This could be as a mentor, supporting with testing, supporting with withdrawals or you may have a subject specialism.
We are looking for an individual who:
Has good communication, numeracy, and literacy skills.
Can inspire, motivate, and support our pupils, encouraging inclusion of all pupils.
Takes every opportunity to develop pupils’ language, reading, numeracy and related skills.
Has a calm and patient nature.
Is willing and able to teach phonics.
Is willing to learn and develop in the role.
Has the highest expectations for the attainment of all young people.
