What skills and experience we're looking for

Skills required:

  • Ability and confidence to assist pupils with basic numeracy and literacy in line with learning strategies and national curriculum
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences, i.e. parents, teachers, pupils, other professionals
  • Highly organised, flexible and motivated

Personal qualities required:

  • An effective communicator - with a wide range of stakeholders
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and energy in pursuit of improved outcomes for children
  • The ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to working with children
  • Ability to promote fairness and a positive role model to pupils
  • A positive record in relation to attendance and punctuality
  • Professional, personal and emotional resilience

Safeguarding:

  • Suitable to work with children
  • The ability to form and maintain appropriate professional relationships and personal boundaries with children
  • The ability to maintain a disciplined learning environment and to support effective behaviour management

Qualifications required:

  • 4 GSCE’s including Maths and English or equivalent at Grade 4, preferably Grade 5
  • Safeguarding (Level 1) training

The school joined Eden Learning Trust in December 2023 and has also benefitted from the PSBP programme; enabling a move to new state of the art facilities in January 2015. Student recruitment is consistently strong and the Academy has been oversubscribed in Year 7 for each of the last 5 years. This is also the case for September 2024, whilst KS5 numbers also increasing.
