We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with teachers to support high-quality teaching and learning, providing both general and targeted assistance to pupils and staff. You will operate under the direction, guidance, and supervision of the classroom teacher to help create a positive and effective learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Implement planned learning activities/teacher programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils’ responses as appropriate
  • Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
  • Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour plans and Personal Care programs under the supervision and guidance of teaching staff

Pay range: SCP 8 - 12 £23,592.34 - £25,152.62 (FTE: £26,824 - £28,598)

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

Qualifications and Skills:

  • GCSE Maths and English minimum grade 4 or equivalent
  • TA2 qualification or equivalent or relevant experience
  • Relevant educational experience supporting a child/children in a school setting and the relevant age range
  • Ability to work with an individual child or with a group
