Learning Support Assistant job summary
George Salter Academy is a friendly, happy and vibrant 11-18 academy, serving a multi-cultural community. Our aim is for all students to develop in knowledge, confidence and ability in a caring and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants, (LSAs) to assist and support pupils, particularly those with special educational needs, to enable them to access the curriculum and make progress. LSAs work under the guidance of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and teaching staff to support pupils with their studies, either in the classroom in small groups, or on a one to one basis.
The successful candidate will have:
- 5 passes (A-C) at GCSE including Maths and English, or equivalent
- excellent interpersonal and listening skills
- a good level of literacy and numeracy and ICT skills
Experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential.
