Learning Support Assistant job summary

Gilmorton CE Primary School, part of Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust, are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our professional, friendly and hard working team in the afternoons.

We are a caring school, with a team of dedicated professionals committed to providing a happy, safe, well disciplined environment where all children can grow in God’s love and make the most of every learning opportunity offered to them. The emphasis is on excellence, excitement and challenge. We pride ourselves on inclusivity and service to our community. Children are encouraged to become independent, creative learners who also respect and care for others. We believe our school is a place where every child feels special and we hope that every child leaves us feeling they have something unique and special to offer the world in which they grow up

Our Church of England Academy caters for children from 4 to 11 years of age and serves the parishes of Gilmorton, Kimcote Cum Walton, Ashby Magna, Bruntingthorpe, Peatling Parva, Upper Bruntingthorpe and Willoughby Waterleys.

Our vision, 'Growing Well, Flourishing Together' is at the heart of all that we do and this core principle rests upon a strong foundation of Christian values which we ensure the children in our care know and use in their everyday lives.

Our last Ofsted, in 2024, identified the school as Good, commenting:

“Pupils, parents and carers and staff know that they belong to the school family. The school is proud to play an integral part in the wider community, for example by joining in the Angel Festival at the church. The school’s vision of ‘growing well and flourishing together’ is evident in the strong community links within the school. Pupils are known well and seen as individuals. Pupils celebrate difference; for example, one said, ‘Everybody is different. If we were all the same, it would be boring.

The school has high expectations for what pupils can achieve. Pupils meet these expectations”

This vacancy is for the right candidate to become a member of our dedicated team of support staff. The role requires a caring and considerate individual to work alongside the class teachers to offer personalised support for children with additional learning needs.

Applications from candidates with a love of children, a knowledge and understanding of their development and a commitment to creative child centred learning are welcomed.
