Hose is a very small, rural Church of England Primary School with a roll of 58 pupils aged from 4 to 11 years of age. The school draws from a mixed area including catchment pupils from local village communities and out of catchment pupils from the nearby villages and market town. We serve a wide range of families ranging from those who own their own properties to those within social housing.

We have approximately 13% of our pupils registered on the SEND register. Our school deprivation indicator is well below average, however 10% of our children are adopted from care.

The school has been stable with staff and a new Headteacher was appointed in 2018. Numbers on school roll have been stable with a steady increase as we attract a proportion of our children from the local villages. We are considered to be a popular successful school within our community, which has a very caring ethos. The school is a happy place, very well supported by parents/carers and governors. Staff pride themselves with their passion to create positive ethos and enriching curriculum for all and involve the wider community. There in a strong sense of Christian ethos within the school which is maintained through the dedication of all staff who foster respect and kindness.

The school also works collaboratively and closely with the other Vale Schools under the Vale Collaborative Partnership
