Learning Support Assistant Level 2 job summary

Location: St Thomas’ CE Primary Academy, Boston
Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only plus five training days

We are looking for a caring, committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (Level 2) to join our supportive and dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to help pupils overcome barriers to learning, delivering targeted academic, social and emotional interventions, and enabling them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and external professionals to implement strategies and recommendations from external agency reports, providing pupils with the personalised support they need to succeed.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience or understanding of trauma-informed practice, and those who can deliver high-quality interventions that promote pupils’ academic progress, emotional regulation, and social well-being — supporting them to become confident learners who encourage each other and overflow with hope.

We are looking for someone who:


- Has experience of working with children in an educational setting.
- Can confidently follow and implement advice from external professionals to support pupils e.g PSP plans, STT reports, Educational Psychologists reports.
- Has experience of delivering academic, social, and emotional interventions.
- Understands trauma-informed approaches to supporting behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Is caring, resilient, and able to work as part of a team.
- Lives out our vision of encouraging each other and overflowing with hope.
