Learning Support Assistant Level 3 - Cognitive and Learning job summary
Due to continual expansion and internal restructuring, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Learning Support Assistant to play a key role in the lives of students with cognitive and learning needs. You will work with a highly professional SEN team who believe in the inclusion and success of our students and giving them the best possible prospects for their future lives. We are ambitious in striving to meet individual needs and improving their learning opportunities.
You will be responsible for overseeing physical and sensory support for students with Physiotherapy and/or Occupational Therapy programmes. Providing direct practical support for the qualified teacher by establishing good relationships with all students and giving appropriate comfort and care as to assist students (including those students with specialist learning needs) to reach their full potential.
This role will be on a contract of 29 hours per week, 39 weeks (Term Time only)

As Learning Support Assistant, you will join a growing and supportive team to:
- Offer general classroom support to carry out directed learning activities
- Provide support to individual students through planned and differentiated activities
- Lead and develop this provision to greater successes
- Assist with students’ personal, behavioural and social development through appropriate advice and guidance
- Act as a positive role model to students, making a lasting impact on their lives
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working with children and young people with SEND or physical and sensory needs
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skillswith students, colleagues and parents
- Have experience of working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
- Be committed to prioritising the needs of the students
- Have strong administrative and organisational skills with an attention to detail.
- Be passionate about supporting young people
- Be IT literate, with experience working with MS Office Suite and Databases
- Have a willingness to work as part of the SEN Team and to be flexible according to the needs of students
- Have a calm and professional presence in challenging situations
