What skills and experience we're looking for
- Capable of establishing productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Able to promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom.
- Supportive of students consistently, whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
- Able to demonstrate good organising, planning and the ability to prioritise skills.
- Friendly yet professional, with a respectful approach which demonstrates support and shows mutual respect.
- Able to maintain accurate records, including individual education learning plans.
- Literate, numerate and articulate, with the interpersonal skills necessary to engage and build strong professional relationships with teenagers.
- Willing to work with colleagues in developing learning activities and tasks to meet the needs of individual students.
- Interested or experienced in developing social skills.
- Responsible and accountable.
- Committed to the needs of the students, parents and other stakeholders and able to challenge barriers to providing an effective service.
- Committed to the continuous development of self and others, by keeping up to date and sharing knowledge, encouraging new ideas, seeking new opportunities and challenges, open to ideas and developing new skills.
- Support with intimate care and personal manual handling of students.
