Job Overview

At St. Teresa’s, our children are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed LSA to support pupils’ learning, development and wellbeing as part of our welcoming and hardworking team. Primarily we are looking for an individual with a willingness to learn, be flexible and work in creative ways to meet our children’s needs.

In this rewarding role, you will work alongside teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences, prepare resources, support pupils pastorally, and help create an environment where every child feels valued, confident, and ready to succeed. You will play an important part in monitoring progress, celebrating achievements, and ensuring that all children receive the support they need to flourish.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while becoming part of a vibrant school community that values teamwork, kindness, and high aspirations.

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, including English and Maths.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant, childcare or educational qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting learning and contributing to positive outcomes for pupils.
  • A caring, nurturing and empathetic approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.

What we offer:

  • A happy, friendly, welcoming family with a strong, positive and caring Catholic ethos.
  • Children who are committed, enthusiastic and fully engaged in their learning.
  • Professional and dedicated colleagues, supportive families and active Governors.

Working at St. Teresa's you will benefit from:

  • Supportive leadership and a friendly and supportive team, who put the needs of children first.
  • A strong commitment to professional development and career growth.
  • A culture rooted in kindness, respect, empathy, and high expectations.
  • Friendly colleagues who work hard, support one another, and enjoy celebrating success together.
  • High-quality professional development and training opportunities.
  • Access to wider collaboration and support through the Newman Catholic Trust.

Why St. Teresa's?

We are:

  • A popular, oversubscribed Catholic school.
  • A Good school (OFSTED June 2024) and an ‘outstanding Catholic school’ (Diocesan Inspection March 2025).
  • A vibrant school set in large grounds, serving the parishes of St Teresa’s and St Vincent’s in North Bristol.

As a school, we pride ourselves on providing a learning environment and a variety of opportunities for our children so that every one of them may be helped to reach their full potential and make the most of their talents given to them by God. The care and well-being of every child is integral to the ethos of our Catholic school and we are blessed with a dedicated and committed team of staff and Governors who work hard to ensure this.

At St. Teresa’s we see ourselves as more than just a school, we are a school family. Our Catholic Christian Community and all aspects of our school life and work reflect our faith.

The mission of St. Teresa’s Catholic Primary School is to provide a Catholic education that inspires our school family to excellence in all our God given talents, where we let our lights shine for all to see.
