Learning Support Assistant job summary

At Robert Smyth Academy we are very excited about our newly built Communication , Interaction Resource Base which opened in January 2024 providing a learning environment and skilled staff that ensure all pupils feel safe and nurtured, enabling them to reach their true potential.

The setting is highly structured in a way that eliminates barriers to learning. Our aim is to encourage pupils to celebrate their strengths and learn to develop strategies to promote independent adult living and to have the skill set to access employment and education beyond the school.

Our aim is to provide education for 15 young people with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Conditions in a highly structured, therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate for the LSA will need to be caring and patient and have an excellent knowledge of the needs of students with Autism in order to ensure they receive provision in line with their EHCPs.
