What skills and experience we're looking for

GCSE standard Grade C or above in English and Maths

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent specific to the post

Evidence of further professional development and training and how it has been applied

Experience of working with young people, preferably in a secondary educational setting

Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant

Experience of occasional whole class supervision (or willingness to undertake training)

Experience of working with vulnerable students

Excellent IT Skills

Understanding the national curriculum

Knowledge of Ofsted Guidance

Understanding of the SEND Codes of Practice

Understanding of principles of child development and learning processes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
