Hamp Academy is an independent but wholly Government funded school for 7 to 11 year olds in Bridgwater. The academy is part of the Bridgwater & Taunton College Trust.

37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term-time plus 5 inset days)

BTCT Points 10 to 12, starting on Point 10. Actual starting salary: £19,784 per annum

Are you confident, enthusiastic and motivated to work with children?

The primary role of the learning support mentor is to work with 1:1 or in small group situations with pupils in order to promote their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. They give assistance to pupils so that they can identify emotions, access emotional literacy support (ELSA) in order to enable pupils to self-regulate and therefore access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience a sense of achievement

You will need to be educated to GCSE grade C (or equivalent) standard in literacy and numeracy, with experience of dealing with Key Stage 2 children
