The School of Art and Design is looking for an enthusiastic and flexible lecturer to join our contemporary, forward thinking, and high achieving team.Working closely with our students, stakeholders and employers, you will strive for continuous improvement and higher standards for the benefit of thewhole community. We aim to do the ordinary things extraordinarilywell.Weare looking for a highly motivated individual with a broad range of skills to predominantly teach on our UAL Level 3 Fashion course. You will be delivering both industry skills and knowledge to our eager students.Candidates should demonstrate competence in various creative and technical processes such as but not limited to:

  • Industry garment production skills, processes & methods
  • Creative textiles & experimental surface textures
  • Sustainable design practices
  • Communication and presentation skills
  • Some experience of technical pattern cutting

Knowledge and experience of Adobe digital programmes, the design development process, fibres and fabrics is desirable.These skills will not only enhance our learners’ academic journey but also prepare them for a successful career in Fashion.The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, resilient and have an eagerness to seek out development opportunities for our courses. You will also be able to demonstrate an adaptive and flexible teaching style to support and stretch a diverse range of students.Teaching experience and relevant qualifications are desirable although we are keen to hear from anyone with the right skills and is willing to engage in self-development.It is essential that our courses reflect industry practices, and you will be key in driving course development to ensure it remains relevant and meets contemporary industry needs. You should also expect to provide prompt, accurate and detailed assessment of student work at key stages during the academic year.The closing date for applications is Monday 27thJuly 2026, with interviews to be held week commencing 10thAugust 2026.
