Leisure Assistant - The Deanes Sports Centre job summary
The Deanes Sports Centre is a community sports hub, open to members outside school hours and during school holidays. We offer a wider range of activities for individuals of all ages and abilities and our facilities comprise a 3G pitch, 3 indoor tennis courts, a fully air conditioned fitness suite, a gymnasium and an indoor sports hall offering badminton, 5 a side football pitch plus much more.
We are looking to appoint Leisure Assistant to provide support to the Sports Centre Manager and Duty Managers. Responsibilities will include:
-Act as first contact for all sports facility visitors, dealing with personal and telephone bookings and enquiries. Relaying messages where applicable.
-Following all safeguarding and child protection policies in place for the school and keep up to date with all training required.
- Assist with secondary sale opportunities such as food & beverages.
-Administer bookings, including taking bookings and payments.
-Ensure the smooth running of the facility during its opening hours.
-Set up/Take down of Sports Equipment as required.
-Carry out general cleaning duties of the leisure facility, including changing rooms, toilets and external areas.
-Assist with any administrative tasks on reception as directed.
-Undertake all tasks according to the Health and Safety guidelines.
-Act as general assistant to the facilities staff, if required.
-Support good communication practises while on duty.
-Ensure the correct clothing and ID Badge is worn at all times.
-Ensure that the safety and behaviour of the public is controlled to prevent injury, misuse and damage to facilities.
-Any other duties as directed by the Sports Centre Manager or Duty Managers.
Hours
Minimum 7 hours per week (1 shift) between the hours of 3pm - 10 pm weekdays and 8am - 6pm weekends
Pay rate & Contract Information:
Zero hours contract - Minimum Wage dependent on age plus paid holiday entitlement. The applicant must be at least 16 years
