Lettings Assistant job summary
All of the Gosforth Group academies hire out facilities to the local community for sporting and cultural activities. This occurs outside of curriculum time meaning that the academies operate until 9:00 pm weekdays and during weekends.
Lettings Assistants ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for community customers who use academy facilities. These facilities vary depending on the school but may include sports hall, exercise studios, classrooms and outdoor areas.
The Lettings Assistant will:
- Ensure that areas are ready for use as per the booking system.
- Be familiar with the safe operating practices and ensure that all areas are safe to be used.
- Set out equipment as required and ensure that storage areas are kept tidy.
- Action and report any defects or damage.
- Undertake ad hoc cleaning to ensure that the facilities are always presentable.
- Open up and close buildings as well as maintaining site security.
- Maintain a positive relationship with customers including the handling of compliments, suggestions and complaints.
- Carry out other operational or administrative duties connected with the operation of the use of the facilities.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- The successful candidate will have experience of working with members of the public in a customer care type role which does not have to be sport related.
- An awareness of health and safety is essential, however support will be available from the central team.
- A calm and thoughtful approach will be required to resolve any challenges to delivering the best possible service to customers.
- The safety of our pupils is paramount; therefore, it is essential that the successful post holder is committed to child protection and safeguarding.

The following shifts require to be covered on a permanent basis. Applicants can identify which shift or shifts they wish to be considered for. We are also recruiting for casual Lettings Assistants who can work at any Academy as and when required.
