Level 1 Teaching Assistant job summary

St John Vianney Catholic Primary School, Starfish Dycare, Hartlepool is looking to appoint a Learning and Care Practitioner who will provide support to children with their learning and care needs and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment for all pupils. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic, caring, and eager to begin or continue a career in education.

Working under the direct supervision of the Early Years Manager you will assist with day-to-day Learning and Care of pupils to support them with their learning, and help maintain a safe and orderly environment. Your duties will include preparing resources, supporting individual or small group work, and encouraging pupils to stay focused and confident in their learning from the ages of 0-11

You’ll also play a valuable role in promoting good behaviour, helping with routines, and supporting the social and emotional development of pupils. Strong communication skills, patience, and a willingness to learn are key to success in this role.
